Auggies background

From what his Forster mom and rescue agency told us, Auggie was found in the woods of Texas. His arm appeared as if someone tried to hack it off with a blade at the elbow. He was immediately rushed to a hospital where his arm had to be removed from the elbow up because of infection. His amputation date was January 26th 2016. He then spent the next months in Forster care with his mom in Texas. My mom and I came across him on pet finder and we immediately fell in love. After contacting the agency they told us he was in the final process of being adopted. Heartbroken, we continued looking for a friend for our other rescue. Then re receive and email telling us Auggies (Rays at the time) adoption fell through and he was back available! We immediately contacted them and after phone interviews we were told we could have him! He got on a bus June 1st from Huston Texas and arrived in White River Junction Vermont on Saturday 4th. Picking up Auggie was very emotional. I cried as the bus pulled up and when he hopped off. He was very nervous and tried to get back on the bus! He was very excited about the other dogs and wanted to play with them all! He wouldn’t walk with us so we carried him over to the grass where he went potty then carried him back to the truck. The car ride he sat in the back seat with his new brother, Justin Β and his girlfriend, Laura. Auggie put his head on Justin’s lap and we all fell in love with him. After getting him home to New Hampshire we introduced him to his new big sister, our rescue Great Pyrneese, Winter. She immediately wanted to play with him while he just wanted to explore!! After about an hour outside he finally came in the house and made himself at home. Still not going on the furniture like we would like him to, but much more comfortable with us then he was when we first picked him up. I know Auggie will soon be comfortable and he’s already an amazing addition to the family!! Welcome home Auggie, our first tripod!

  1. Oh Augie!! You are sooooo handsome! You have clearly won the puppy lottery by finding this great furever home! πŸ™‚

I love that your humans WANT you to get on the furniture! There is nothing off limits in my home either. To not have a dog vy my side on the sofa
or in my bed would be a lonely existence!

This post really has made my day! Looking forward to following Augie’s journey. So glad he has you to show him what love feels like.

    Btw…Winter is BEAUTIFUL!!

    Hugs to all!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
