Sleepy boy!

SLEEPY PUP

AUGGIE FINALLY MADE IT ON THE COUCH!! He’s really getting comfortable in his new home (as you can see!!!) we’ve been trying to get him on the couch and love seat since the first day we got him and he finally climbed up the other day and made himself right at home! So glad to see he’s adjusting and becoming more comfortable with us!! ❤️

Auggie saying goodbye

Auggie on kitty's grave
Auggie on kitty’s grave.     Sadly we had to put down my cat I’ve had for 14 years. Auggie seems to be bummed out because he is always laying on her grave. Auggie only knew her for a couple days and was absolutely terrified of her but I really do think he misses her. 🙁 on another note, Auggie has shown me his master escape artist side! Yesterday I was taking him to go meet a new dog who he will be spending time with, and I stopped at the dairy farm my boyfriend works on. He told me there was a newborn who wouldn’t eat so he needed me to help him bottle feed her. I left my car running with Auggie in the back seat and the Windows about 8 inches open. I wasn’t worried at all because he’s a 50 pound dog, no way he can fit through that!! So I start wrestling the calf and trying to feed her, getting kicked and head butted and getting milk spit all over me, when I look up and see Auggie hauling butt across the farm!! I jump the fence where the calf was and book it after him, screaming his name (which btw he doesn’t know yet) he doesn’t listen at all, and just keeps running! He finally hit a dead end and came running back into my arms! I was sure he must have opened the car door or something but he didn’t! That little bugger hoped out the window!!! I don’t know how he did it but he did! After I got him back in the car, we went to meet his new friend, who he absolutely loved! They played for hours!! He slept the whole way home! He was such a good boy! 🙂 happy to see he’s making new friends!!

Auggies first couple of days in his new home

Guilty!! image image

So the first morning of having Auggie, it was raining and apparently they are getting to love eachother because they played all morning in the mud!!! They came inside and shook all over the furniture!! Glad he’s making himself at home with his big sis! Still hasn’t gotten on the couch like Winter yet though! They got baths when they came inside but unlike winter, he was very calm in the bath. I got in the bath with him where he rest his head on my lap while I massaged his whole body! If only winter would sit still so I could do the same for her! He also doesn’t like to let me take a picture of him! But I’m very happy to see Auggie and winter getting along so well!! P.s. I work at a Chinese restaurant so I get free white rice and I always share with winter and now that Auggie is here I got extra to share with him… But he didn’t want it!!! I don’t blame him because there’s no flavor and I wouldn’t eat it without salt either!! But winter was very happy eating his rice for him! But Auggie does love the pumpkin/squash/peas and other yummy food my mom makes for him!! 🙂

Auggie and his new mommy and sister (me)! Fresh off the rescue bus!

Auggies background

From what his Forster mom and rescue agency told us, Auggie was found in the woods of Texas. His arm appeared as if someone tried to hack it off with a blade at the elbow. He was immediately rushed to a hospital where his arm had to be removed from the elbow up because of infection. His amputation date was January 26th 2016. He then spent the next months in Forster care with his mom in Texas. My mom and I came across him on pet finder and we immediately fell in love. After contacting the agency they told us he was in the final process of being adopted. Heartbroken, we continued looking for a friend for our other rescue. Then re receive and email telling us Auggies (Rays at the time) adoption fell through and he was back available! We immediately contacted them and after phone interviews we were told we could have him! He got on a bus June 1st from Huston Texas and arrived in White River Junction Vermont on Saturday 4th. Picking up Auggie was very emotional. I cried as the bus pulled up and when he hopped off. He was very nervous and tried to get back on the bus! He was very excited about the other dogs and wanted to play with them all! He wouldn’t walk with us so we carried him over to the grass where he went potty then carried him back to the truck. The car ride he sat in the back seat with his new brother, Justin  and his girlfriend, Laura. Auggie put his head on Justin’s lap and we all fell in love with him. After getting him home to New Hampshire we introduced him to his new big sister, our rescue Great Pyrneese, Winter. She immediately wanted to play with him while he just wanted to explore!! After about an hour outside he finally came in the house and made himself at home. Still not going on the furniture like we would like him to, but much more comfortable with us then he was when we first picked him up. I know Auggie will soon be comfortable and he’s already an amazing addition to the family!! Welcome home Auggie, our first tripod!
